Electricians - What!!!

Has anyone any good tips when trying to get an Electrician to quote you for some work around the house.

I've contacted 7 of them over a 2 month period, only one turned up on time and he took a month to send me the quote, 5 didn't show up at all with no explanations and one didn't show up 3 times!

Is this normal???

Have you looked at some bigger comapines in the Yellow Pages?

Goto your local council, they legally should give you a list of registered and properly trained with the relevant governing body of electricians people.

Then you can contact them.

have you got a very new house? might be that your road isnt on the map.. i had a mate who had problems iwth this..

Trouble is most of the 5 that didn't turn up were Koser, even got them out of the local 'Good Guys' guide, of course the guide isn't interested if tehy're cowboys!

Our block of flats has been here 25 years, they'd have to be visually challenged...

One of my mates reckons sparkies are the worst of all professionals for turning up..
