Spam???

I've noticed recently that the amount of spam around here has become silly. I admit to (very) occasionally spamming myself, but the number of 'ROFL' and 'LOL' posts has become stupid! I haven't been here recently as much as I used to due to this and have noticed that lots of names from before the hacking are no longer here........

I have to agree with you there, chap. I too have noticed quite a few rofls popping up allover the show. Same with a few new members who have been spamming to reach the 50 post minimum for the for sale forum. To all the spammers... PLEASE!

to be honest, it dosnt really bother me as much as others.. I only read the threads that the title interests me, so usually avoid the 'lol' & 'rofl' brigade!

it is a bit daft as it totally abuses the whole point of the limit ! and therefore means more people can get ripped off on the for sale forum... grrr.

Yeh i have to admit ive been seeing it more and more often, and best thing to do to prevent this. Is delete their posts, and give them a few warnings etc, as its obvious they do not want to help anyone out with one word posts.

Have you bothered looking at half the posts on this particular forum?

A hell of a lot of them are what I would consider to be spam.

But there again The forum does say General Discussion and Banter and talking of banter which correct me if I'm wrong means...playful good humoured teasing, to joke, etc.

Now if that's correct and if someone replys to a post in one sentence in a witty and jokey fashion then I would consider that banter and not spam.

If you really dislike spam or banter as I call it then why not change the forum name to just General Discussion.

Anyways don't take offence at my words of un-wisdom it's just my humble opinion

Its not thats matey is that hundreds of boredem inducing predicatable posts. If 5 people have already commented on how funny a joke is then no more LOL's are needed in that thread but obviously the kids just dont get it
