Your account will be suspended! - but i dont have one, scam i think....

    Hi.

Just got this email through my gmail account. A poor attempt at a scam, just thought i would warn people to remain vigilent

The link to activate your account just goes to an IP, and note that the email is from paypal@mythtv.lan

Thankfully it was easy for me to identify as a scam, as i dont have a paypal account me scammers

forward the e-mail to spoof@paypal.com. I've had scam e-mails supposed to be from ebay and paypal before and forwarded them on. I always recieve an e-mail back within 24 hours from the real paypal/ebay confirming they are scams.

I used to think that nobody I knew was stupid enough to fall for these scams, but my neighbour was stung for 5 grand in an online banking scam. She was able to get everything back - but can't believe she didn't call me to verify it! Took her almost 3 months to get it sorted.

Tbh people who are stupid enough to fall for these deserve to lose their money.
Add more chlorine to the gene pool is what I say.
People have had enough warning, national newspapers, TV etc.
Now they should be tested. And if they fail tough. They suck.
    Harsh but fair.

people have previously cloned the paypal/ebay address so it appears genuine but is fake. Just got something from ebay(when I login to the ebay site) saying that if yyou recieve an e-mail from them then check in my ebay and there will be a copy there if it is genuine. If not, it is a fake.

I get these ebay scams almost everyday. If you look in the bottom status bar of internet explorer if you click the bogus links, you can see ad companies and dogy websites before it changes in the top URL bar.

Only idiots do these things. I once fileld out a scam ebay form in an insulting mannor.
