    Well I had the interview...

It was a Group one with 9 other people... a bit daunting, have never done one like that before. I think I did ok, I certainly put in a better showing than half the other candidates imo. Just depends on how many staff they need I suppose.

But can't really tell until they either ring me (good news) or send me a letter (baaaddd).

Finding a decent job is HARD.

Hope you get the phone call then :-)

All joking aside about the tech knowledge, hopefully the stuff you know because of being an enthusiast rather than just someone applying for jobs at random will put you in a good standing.

So, were there any tragically bad candidates in there?

I don't think they were to interested in knowledge at this point tbh. It was all about personality and communication. Didn't really get a chance to to show my knowledge. Although they mentioned that they had just introduced a new training scheme to teach people all about new tech, so if I do get the job I'll be fairly ahead on that side of things before I start.

There were a couple of people who were just out of school and they seemed quite nervous, but there were no seriously bad people. I seemed to have a couple of years life experiance on 75% of the people there.

    *fingers crossed*

Nope it's the Derby one. All those places have pretty shoddy PC componant sections. There just can't be much money in it on the high street.

funny you should say that cause it's how I feel. If I get a decent job with the right guidance + training I think I could do really well.

The likelyhood is that you will know more about new tech than the bloke doing the training. The old "plasma tellys need regassing after 3 years so you best get a cover plan" chesnut is still doing the rounds. lol.

Well good luck to you with that, it'd be nice to know that somebody who knows what they are doing might work at Comet. Who knows, this thing might become common and someone who knows what they're doing can help my parents buy a TV. Nah, it'll never happen.

One of the reasons I've got into tech forums and the like is in the hope of learning things as I want to get a job in Comet or similar during the holidays when I go to University. So it will be interesting to see how this turns out.
