Frankly, no-one's going to beat my competition winning paper aeroplane from scouts. Oh those were the days, we had paper aeroplane flying competitions (we had to get them in a box from about 10 metres away). I always won.
Thankyou book of ultimate paper aeroplanes! There's one for every eventuality...
Oh...well if we are bringing out our external resources...
/me reaches for hard back copy of:
AN INTRODUCTION TO THE PRINCIPLES OF AERONAUTICAL DESIGN AND THE SCIENCE OF AERODYNAMICS
The Executive Paper Aeroplane Making Kit
including Assembly Plans and Instructions for eight flying models
Kick ass book.

it's a very bold statement, but given my afternoon out at my Dad's bosses I can prove the theory wrong.
His boss built something resembling a dead duck. My father built that exact aeroplane and I built a bog standard dart.
Who won? Well, it wasn't the dead duck.
My dart travelled a full 16 feet further than my fathers 'DC-3 of paper aeroplanes' in a graceful and controlled manner.
So ner-knicky-ner-ner...

ooops, sorry...
I see the point now, it's not to be practical, but to give plane spotters something to drool over.It glided like no paper airplane I have ever seen before, it was acting like a REAL airplane. It gently curved into the slight breeze and began to rise vertically without moving forward. The craft then began to lower as if it were a helicopter and gently came to rest on the asphalt below.
hmm.
Mine was still better. I still hold the record on declaring things 'best'.

ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh................its not hard at all....he just turned it over...I didnt read that bit...oh right I see...yeah cool....done it

I spent 2 and a half solid hours on it and managed to it. I can now do it off by heart.
I have too much time on my hands.....
Ok official results:
Construction:
Effort: 5/10 - others are much easier
Time: 3/10 - it does take a while
Flight:
Time: 3/10 - doesnt really go *that* well
Gracefulness: 4/10 - hmmm...paper darts fly better
Overall:
4/10
Its ok, but not that great tbh. The claims far outway the actual performance of the plane itself. I would not recommend changing to this model

We all know the purpose of paper planes is mearly a target for catapults.
And there was me thinking they were to hit teacher in the back of the head (when equiped with a blackened ink edge....)
goes back to reading Beano...

My grandad taught me how to build those years ago....they're great...many a happy afternoon during Economics class building those to throw out the window....
