    Just wondering how long people around here commute to work... and how.

    A nice long 30min walk that leaves me nice and sweaty by the time i get to work.

    Its only 5 mins by bus but the walk is much nicer, if you took out all the cars.

    Sub 10 minutes by car now as i'm not able to commute, did 4 weeks of commuting to my current job from high wycombe and it averaged 1hr 15mins each way at rush hour before i had to move out of my rented place to somewhere closer. I like having time to myself and i didn't like losing that 10% of my day to sitting in traffic.

    Currently commuting in to London for a bit of summer work, it takes me about an hour - 40 mins on train and then a 20 minute walk

    7mins down the road from my front door, and yet on rainy days I drive lol
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    5 minutes in the car to get to work here for me...

    or nearly 2 hours if I get the bus as the bus goes from Worsley to Bolton where I change and then get 1 from Bolton to Horwich and walk down the road to the retail park.

    The route the buses take is like an inverted L whereas the M61 is direct and more a "/ " journey.

    Its about a 15 mile drive - including parking etc. its about 40 mins door to door

    personally thats my limit of economical commute for my current salary.

    If I was paid more, I'd consider travelling further.
