Sure, sorry Ikonia, sometimes its difficult if you don't know someone very well on the forums.

Yeah, I haven't got millions of drug money to stash away in limbo somewhere. I am checking out the links and considering options. Right now First Direct has a 5.2% interest on e-savings. Yeah it varies, but I might move a bulk over to them.

The bottom line is that if you actually want to make a decent return on your money, savings accounts anywhere are not the place to go. The only thing you should look for in a savings account is inflation matching, so you don't relatively lose money. If you want a return, there are many options (that I'm certainly not qualified to talk about). Personally, I'm eyeballing some mutual funds because I don't really have the time to research hundreds of stocks to stay diversified.

Personally I think the internet savings accounts are good. You dont get banks or anything but they save their money and you get a higher interest rate. As most of my banking is done online anyway I think its pretty cool. Gonna get one. SHould be able to get over 5% resonably easily.
Most of my limited amounts of money are locked into one of HSBCs new years sales things they had. 5.25% for a year, no withdrawls. Seemed good at the time.
