    Recruitment Web Sites for Employers

Several times recently I have had cause to try and fill a vacancy. The choice appears to be either advertise in the local press or deal with (very expensive) recruitment agencies.

I'm sure this is a gap in the market for a website based employers resource! There are many sites that cater for the job seeker, but I can't appear to find, easily, sites (preferably free) for the prospective employer.

Can anyone save me hours and hours of further searching?

You can advertise on jobserve directly ( the agencies campaigned very hard not to allow this ) but it will cost ( dont know how much though )

but thinking of the logistics of it , how would a company offering such a service make any money ?

you can't charge clients to register with it + you'd never make a good revenue from advertising to justify the site costs.

You may be correct but I'm not so sure. It would all be down to volume of traffic as to whether the advertising would pay. But other options exist if it were to become very popular including charging a small fee to the seeker and charging for "added value" services. I know it's quite different, but looking at how many people pay for Friends Reunited certainly stunned me. But then again, I'm not an "entrepreneur" so I guess the fact that noone does it suggest there is no market.

Given my fiance makes extremely good wedge from the exorbitant prices her recruitment consultancy charges clients, I hope your idea doesn't become a success!
