    Bomb! (56k no, maybe)

    * Some of the following shots were taken with a 16x Digital Zoom, so obviously the quality isn't too hot.

So, I'm at work and my mum phones to tell me our street has been evacuated and the surrounding area cordoned off. Apparently there's a suspect package under a car. "Sure, whatever" I think and then proceed to do whatever any other normal person would do... I grab my mate and jump in my car and drive to my house. That's right, I drive to the bomb. I mean, who wouldn't, right?

Luckily my mate had his Canon G5... but the zoom was kind of poor. We really needed my 20D. My street was off limits (bomb was under a car parked right at the end of my street, a stones throw from my house). for some reason only half the street parallel to mine was cordoned off... so began a stealth mission down the back alleys, through a garden or two, to the back of my house, up the drainpipe and through my bedroom window (smart arse here had left his keys at work). Two minutes later and I was out the back door with 20D and 28-135mm in hand. Success!

Unfortunately I had to return to work around this time, so I left my mate with the camera.

So, about the bomb. The radio (and I suspect newspapers) are saying it was nothing but a hoax. However, the family who owned the car are Irish, after the bomb squad's controlled detonation the police took the car away, there was a lot of Forensics activity afterwards, there's now a policeman guarding the house (necessary for a hoax?) and my mate is adamant that the outdoor light on the front of the house contains a hidden camera (take a look and make your own opinion).

The rumour is that it's something to do with the IRA and the house was a safehouse and the family on the run, etc, etc, etc. I guess we'll know if they never return.

fairly common secret camera (you're definately right - I used to sell 'em)

as for a safe house, who knows. After all, there was a certain woman released from prison related to certain mr huntley in our village. All hush hush until she was moved on...

Like I said, my mate took the photos, I had to go back to work after I'd got mine (about an hour after we'd arrived) but left him with the 20D. The forensics are using Nikon (you can see the straps in some pics), not sure what model though. That police woman (brunette) and the forensics girls aren't too bad

Love the white suits, one size fits nobody. I have to wear them at work, have to be careful what you wear uderneath as they rip so easy.

lol - it sounds like the women were only a forethought in all this.

The correct order should be: Policewomen, bomb, camera.
    Hexus order: Camera, bomb, policewomen.

    It's all about priorities...

    Wow, interesting stuff :O

Quite fit policewoman there, I have to say...

We had a fiasco like that at the end of my road the other week, apparently some guy was walking around there with a live hand grenade. I say apparently, but I actually know it was true because my brother came running back along with his mates before the police got there, scared the crap out of them. Probably scared em' enough to leave a trail of poo behind tbh

I only knew this camera was there as most the women in there were around 18 - 21 years of age and I slept with a couple
Like I said, it's all rumours and speculation. Odd though, what normal person checks under their car in the morning and immediately thinks "bomb!" if they see something underneath?
