    Exclamation 56K Modem "not functional"

I don't usually go on 56K as I only need it when our broadband modem's in use. I tried to go on the other day, and a message came up saying something like:

    "modem not found" IIRC

I then go to phone and modem option in the control panal, and it gives my modem name, and next to it, it says "not functional"

    I've tried:
    * Uninstalling, then reinstaling the modem
    * Uninstalling, restarting then reinstalling the modem
    * Putting the modem needed for 56K to the broadband modem (didn't think that would work)

I don't know what else to do. Any idea will be useful .

I don't HAVE any other modem (exept the one if my parents' PC, but they wouldn't let me take it out).
