    I'm going to go against the grain here and say IMHO he's a complete idiot.
    He's an idiot for getting into that kind of debt in the first place and he's even more of an idiot for being too lazy to sell the items individually or at the very least the expensive items individially and the rest in small lots.
    For a few hours of extra effort, he could have recovered thousands more.
    He will most likely live permenantly in debt.

    In fact due the the state of credit reference these days and the comstant bombardment of loan adverts and credit card deals, plus the dumb way they assess your credit, I am tempted to max out my debt, shift most of said stuff out of the country and declare myself bankrupt, shortly after finding a job on foreigh soil
    Soooooo tempting. I rekon I could get into over £50k of debt in the space of 6 months!
