    Smile Incredible pavement art

Julian Beever has done some amazing optical illusion pavement art, the most effective one (IMO) is the giant Coke bottle.

A couple of the pictures have the same image when viewed from the wrong angle and see how they work.

Possibly old news to you guys, but it's the first time I've ever seen these

    WOW.

He's even got stuff like the reflection of light through the coke bottle in there. It's amazing!

They looks so 3D it's unbelievable.

Yes - I was going to say it wouldn't really look right from the other side. Just didn't realise how much the leg had to be extended to make it look right.

Yeah seen it all before, amazing stuff.

A few years ago I went to visit my brother in London, and it was my first time in London and stuff, and somebody had done some art on the pavement, and i was about an inch away from walking on it -- my brother pulled me away at the last minute, i didnt even notice it lol.

    Edit:

lol, look at the guy who is avoiding the hole part (on the left), he's looking at it as if its real, i wonder if he 'tripped'

amazing, and shows that soem "non computer" crafts and tools men get amazing results.

the coke bottle, wow - stunning, and the others are very nice.

Its interested to see how not only does he have to be able to draw exceptionlly well, but how long the leg is in the swimming pool shot, or the globe shot from the wrong way, shows he must have exception "vision" to work out how to make things appear to scale from the right way up
    It is Inevitable.....

The interesting thing with them is the views from the wrong perspective... you have to wonder what's the best way to go about doing one of them. I'd have though that the easiest way to go about one of these would be having either a head-mounted display (ideally), or failing that a traditional display that's linked to a fixed video camera, which will let you see how your picture is progressing in real time... of course, that would also give you the perfect location for taking the photo...
I'm sure it still takes plenty of practice... I couldn't draw that well on a piece of paper, let alone factoring in perspective...

Wow that's really stunning work! Never seen anything like it especially street art. I wasl looking at it and it was really trippy hehe

My favourite has to be the little boat he did with all the ripples etc I thought it was so simple and very effective. What's also great about the site is how he shows that it only works from one angle.
Also love looking at the people around him avoiding the holes he's drawn etc
