is this year 10 coursework also?

Really try hard not to get emotional and angry at the teacher, that will do you no good
and could mess up your other marks.
I think the best way would be what someone else said go and discuss it with the teacher
and ask them to ask you questions about what you wrote then you can say what you
felt and why and that kind of crap.
good luck.
Year 10/11 GCSE coursework, was to do over year 10 and year 11 (up until x-mas).Originally Posted by Ramedge

But it's also sort of hard for her to ask questions about it... because it's a story I made up, and if she asked "well why did you do this" how am I supposed to answer that?, all I can say is "because I felt like it, or i was been creative, etc"
oops, double posted, sorry.
Lets put it this way, fretting about it on the internet isn't going to help. Just go with it, chill out mon. If you're on DDE or whatever and you go to her with an A* piece of work, of course she's going to suspect something, but you need to remember that there is a whole line of people above her head you can go to, including the exam board. **** happens.
unlucky buddy, believe me things will pick up soon
every so often i get these times (im in year 11 also)
when everything just seems like you fell down a giant crapper
but things ALWAYS get better, before getting worse again and so on and so forth
in year 7 i used to have a maths teacher who teached us one thing. Teachers can and will cry in front of a whole class if necessary
he used to sit at his desk and like cry into his hands (sometimes he didnt turn up at all)
i realise that year 7 is different from year 11, but i find it always helps to tell myself that someone somewhere has it worse than i do
that usually cheers me up

Actually, it has helped talking about it on the internet, this moment in time right now, I can't really do anything, so talking about it helps me AND people are giving me ideas and advice.Originally Posted by Norky

I was in a similar position with coursework during my stint at a grammar school (C's mainly) until one point where I decided to hand in a self styled story I wrote over a few weekends.
Imagine the teachers face when I handed in a piece of work 135 pages long (I cut it short for the deadline). A* - see me
lol usually it was D - see me.
Needless to say I was accused of cheating and it was taken to the headmaster who quizzed me on it and pronounced me.
To be honest with the availablity of online papers I'd hate to be a teacher picking it apart - it's their job to recognise unusual trends - like yours. If you did the piece of work you'll know the material inside out as well as the research. Just have a chat and point this out - after all the point of the coursework is to show you understand the subject not the coursework itself.

I had a simiar situation, in that I didn't usually try at art and was crap at it, then on one homework I acutually tried and it was miles better than anything I;ve done before, I knew that, and everyone else did. I didn't cheat but I guess its the teachers job to check if you have. This was just in year 7 or something tho, so nothing serious, but her acussing me of cheating actully made me a competant artist mefinks, as I wanted to prove myself
On another point, English/Lit. is a subject that I was really bad at and got really low marks in when I was in year 10. And in the mocks i got D or E. But in the exams, I got A and A*. I just think it one of those subject you can really improve in, especially during a course.
Should be alright tho, just keep arguing with them and explain. Good luck with it all.
You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?
Fair enough. But the story wasn't on anything specific, just something I made up.Originally Posted by tim_n
And typed up it was only 1 page and a half, but there was still quite a bit.
Well at lunch today I went to English to do my oral coursework exam thing.
It went ok, struggled at some points, but I got a C!!!!!! YAY, that's well good I thought I would of done worse. So hopefully she will mark my original writing now, but I guess I'll find out at the start of next term.
Well when i was back in school in GCSE's, English was a department constantly checking for plagiarism, hence why some of my m8's pieces of work were disqualified. Unlucky on your part m8, i suppose most teachers expect students' work to be relatively constant.
