*sigh*, Year 11 is getting worse and worse everyday for me :(

OK, well I've been working on coursework for english for a while, and since I've had tons of other stuff to do I havn't been able to do it in time, it was supposed to be in today, but I managed to JUST get till Thursday to do it, which should be ok.

Anyway, when I had home tutoring for year 10, I did 4 pieces of coursework, for when I go back to school in Year 11, I can't remember what one of them was, but one was Romeo and Juliet, and the other was A christmas Carol (Scrooge).
Anyway, the 4th was Original Writing, where I had to write my own story, now I went to school today and people were asking for there grades, so I thought I'd find mine out, now she says she didn't mark it because it's the best writing she has ever seen, and she think's I've been cheating.. why does she think I've been cheating? WELL, because I got a ****ing D, D and E for the other pieces of work I did, and the original writing is A* material. The other stuff I did was all with my home tutor but the original writing was homework I did by myself. I spent bloody ages on it. I'm in danger of ****ing my whole English coursework up, and possibly my GCSE's, and I can't think of any ****ing way of proof that I wrote it, I still have the *.doc of the Original Writing on my computer, but I don't see how that is good enough proof..

Oh, and I've got to do good in this coursework on Thursday, if I don't do good then she says that I've probably been cheating... and it's ORAL coursework, I'm tottally **** at oral coursework, so it's even MORE likely she's going to think I've been cheating.

dude, take the work to another teacher!
just say to your english teacher "if you dont believe its mine, then i will get some else to mark it" also go speak to your tutor about this, they will be able to sort this out

but to be accused of cheating!! thats not a nice thing and i personally wouldnt stand for it!

some a-level teachers are bitter, as the lecturers get paid less than a GCSE teacher would, not as much as uni lecturer would.
I had one who didn't like me all that much, and as such didn't submit my BIO (British Informatics Olympiad) score, because i'd of made it to the next round. But he was an incompitent drunk (and i did have rather good fun with my revenge).

tutor.. my home tutor? - The company she worked for isn't.. whats the word.. where everyone is made redundant. My mum has her home phone number somewhere though I think.

I could ask for it to be marked by another teacher, but what if the teacher I have now, tells the other teacher the same story? You know what teachers are like, even the ones who hate each other pretend to be friends .

I guess if she decides not to mark it I'll take it to another teacher to get marked if I can, thanks.

I am. I wasn't last year though, I had home tutoring because of my sleeping disorder.

Anyway... can she actually refuse to mark my work (by law) with no HARD proof that I've been cheating?, I mean, the other grades can't be proof to her that I've been cheating can it? because there is a big difference between 'Explain this' and 'Write your own story about anything in the entire world and be as creative as possible'..............

Kick up a BIG fuss - unless she can PROVE you didn't write it, it should be marked as is. Get your parents to write a letter of complaint and threaten to take it to the highest level.

I used to constantly get C's and D's in English until I wrote a stunning piece for a teacher that had bollocked the whole class for the crap she was seeing and the lateness of work. I was in real sh1t and in danger of dropping to a lower group. When I wrote the piece the teacher said only one person got an A and the rest didn't hit a B. We all thought that it would be one of the typical swots that always do well and I thought, "oh crap here we go again D city". The look on everyones faces when the class was told it was me that got the A was superb.

From that moment onwards I never dropped below a B+ in any English assignment and when on to get 2 A's.

So keep plugging away and don't let that b*****d of a teacher grind you down. Good luck.

Thanks for that, will definitly be telling my dad about it... (speak of the devil, just came back from work ). I'll hand in my work on Thursday, she'll probably mark it on Friday, I'll ask for the results on Monday, hopefully she would of marked the original writing.. or plans to, if she said well this oral was rubish blah blah blah, you couldn't of written the original writing yourself... what shall I say then? Should I say I will get it marked by another teacher or say I'm complaining to the head of year/head master or what?

    Thanks again guys.

well first of all if your teacher says you couldnt of written that you self then you will just have to try your best to convinse them. if they dont accept that then tell them your going to see senior staff and complain! Then go find some one. Head of year prob best!
you could tell your you feel upset that she wont accept your work! (emotional blackmail )
(point her in the direction of this thread )

Any teacher (infact most compotent people) should be able to tell that the work wasn't stolen if they sat down and discussed it with you. If they can't, they really shouldn't be allowed to teach IMO.

You know, that's EXACTLY what went through my head when she said it. I'll do it on google, yahoo, msn search, ask jeeves, everything.

Anyway, just spoke to my dad, he said that after I've done my oral exam on Thursday (hopefully I will get the mark on thursday btw), if she decides not to mark the other work, then my dad wants me to make an appointment for him, my head of year, my english teacher, and possibly one with my home tutor (still have her number).
Bad thing is though, I go on holiday next tuesday, and then when we get back from the holiday it's half term... so it may be a while until it get's resolved . I don't think the deadline is until Christmas anyway.
