After the other thread about Channel 4 news, I was just watching the 10 O'Clock BBC News tonight for the first time in months (if not years).

First item up was about RAF Tornado squadrons that are on standby to shoot down civilian aircraft that might have been hijacked by terrorists. This was like something from Pathe News in 1942, complete with comparisons to the Battle of Britain and pilots with Top Gun nicknames. I mean, how on earth was this classified as news??? and the impending Bird Flu pandemic was relegated to 3rd or 4th to make room forthis propaganda!
