    reported IP to ISP...

Any of u guys have any experience with this?

we received some derogative, and abusive comments on our guestbook online, and i have had enough of it so i locked the topics and reported the IP to the ISP with links to the topics...

im just wondering whether any of you guys have ever had to do this and do any of you know the outcome? as they are in breach of thier terms and conditions, they should be suspended or something, do u guys think they actually WILL be suspended?

I doubt the ISP will do anything about it.

Best thing to do is just block their IP from the guestbook, or just the website itself. If they have a dynamic IP, then maybe just block their IP-range for a week or two until they give up all together.

I think the ISP would warn them but certainly not kick them off. Mind you though, I have never been in or seen that situation before, so I have no idea what the response will be if anything.

If they're abusive to a point they may be criminal then the ISP will do something. If it's 'You're rubbish you stinky doo doo head' (hexus edit ) or along those lines I really doubt the ISP would give a monkey these days.

OK, if you use AOL and go flame the knitting channels, you'll probably get a note saying 'don't abuse the knitters' but ISPs simply couldn't go around policing non criminal activity on every message board out there.

I thought idiots were the part and parcel of being on the internet.... instead of kicking up a fuss ( because they want you to react ) why not just block the ISP and delete the posts that were made.
Looking on a positive side, at least you have caught their attention enough for them to take the time to harrass you Your true fans won't give a toss about what's been said by a couple of eejits, only people that look stupid is them.

Had a look around the site ages ago, awesome stuff if i remember correctly, might have to back and have another look
