    Apple iTablets......

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/01...et_tablet_mac/

Well i for one really don't get it. With so many excelent hardware manifacturers making tablets with better battery life, lighter, stronger (see panasonic's!) why on earth would anyone want an apple rendition of a tablet?

The only reason a Tablet PC is actually any good, and not just like a palm/pocketpc is windows XP tablet edition. You can very easily install your favourate OS on them, but very view stray away from XP te.

What i'm trying to say, is why would anyone waste their time with it, granted its easy to see how stupid apple users are with their money, but even if someones wanting to be at the forfront of developement a WACOM tablet would be a much more sensible purchase.

Lol, keeping your impartial apple views as usual, TheAnimus. However, this isn't a real apple product and sounds quite half-arsed if you ask me. I think a real apple tablet would be somewhat better than this. I loved my little acer tablet pc, and my brother is using it now. It really improved with SP2.

oh heck i'm not saying its going to be close to their quality.

Its just why would anyone buy one, with a bidding starting at $15,000?! I can't understand why, only reason i can think of, is that their stupid.

Yawn. People have been doing this for a wee while, but I think that this is the first place to offer them on a purely commercial basis.

As for operating systems, surely everyone is free to choose for themselves? For a long time now, OS X has had handwriting recognition built in, referred to as Inkwell, and given how intuitive the operating system can be, I can see no problem in using it on a tablet if that is your wont. I've used it quite happily with a Wacom tablet from time to time.

How about a bit of open-mindedness when it comes to these things, eh? I'm sure there as many, if not more PC users who fritter away money like some Apple users. Just as there are plenty of Apple users who don't.

Oh, and our 12" iBooks routinely get 6+ hours of battery life, which at times is better than my phone.....

Edit: I see that the Tablet is not compatible with Inkwell, which is a bit of a pain.
