    Oh Deer .......

Coming home from work last night was the rather sad sight of half a Deer by the side of the road, something big must have hit it as it looked like it was literally torn in two. Apart from wondering where the other half was the first thing I said was 'Oh dear' - cue spontaneous and totally inappropriate laughter

Anyway, it's still there this morning and although it's by the side of the road it's been hit by more traffic. Anyone know who to report it to - Local council, Highways agency, Police ?

It's on the side of a fast B road if that makes any difference.

A bit sad that it hasn't been cleaned up yet.. I can't say I'm certain of who to report it to, but the local council would be a good start. They have those town maintenance vans allover the shop, so I'd imagine that it was their jurisdiction.

I almost went over a hedgehog last night, but I'm quite happy to say that I stopped just in time. Poor little thing got the shock of it's life, running out into the road with me stopping only about a foot away.

I know you have to phone the police if you hit a dog, not sure what the deal is with wild animals though.

The wife just rang to sy that it had been removed and the 'bits' cleaned up. I would imagine whoever hit it will be calling their insurance company though
