Take a good book or two to read. How far do you live from the arena? you could always escape after your mate has been baptised.

Well, to be honest I wouldn't advise you either way. It's your friend and it depends on how much of a friend you are/they are. If it means that much to them, then you should probably be there for them no?

I'd find out if there's a way you can go for just their 'bit'. Watch the dunking, listen to the spiel, meet them afterwards and you're done.

I'm going about 9:45 with my mate and catching the train from St.Helens > Manchester. He should be finished at about 12:30, so I'll be getting the train home then. He'll obviously be staying for the duration (till 5:30pm).
