British Gas / Click Energy / House

Is it just me or is there new clickenergy service completely rubbish?

I've registered with click energy twice over the phone, registered with house.co.uk on the internet (the "your accounts" section is down for maintenance), and told them that I pay all my bills by direct debit, yet they still haven't managed to setup direct debit properly and they still haven't enabled my clickenergy account (even though I've emailed them twice about it!)

There seems to be no way of winning with them, no matter who you contact or who you ring, none of it seems to be working properly!

Npower just increased my tarrifs to a fair whack above British Gas, so I'm going to change back. Their customer service has been dispicable too.
Too bad to hear I may not be able to switch back... :-?

Well, they finally managed to get everything setup correct after numerous phone calls! A long letter will be winging it's way to them today. I'll also be sending it to energywatch, united utilities (who were involved with replacing the meters, which overall took more than 2 years), and bbc watchdog...

I got a red bill from them after their "paperless billing" system told me I didn't owe anything... logged in quickly to pay it and it still said £0... ended up phoning them to work out what the heck was going on. So instead of one instant method, I ended up using three!

Other than that, no real issues though.

    click energy

hi can i ask those of you who have joined click energy, does any of your paperwork, emails or account details confirm that you are a click energy customer? i tried to switch to click energy, had the confirmation e-mail and was told to wait for 6 weeks while it was set up. nothing happened so i contacted them to check it had been set up, they said they didn't recognise the reference number from the e-mail. i wasted 2 weeks going round in circles between e-mails and call centres trying to find out what's going on. I now have a letter from house (the british gas website) saying i am now managing my gas account online, but there is no mention of click energy.
is this similar to what you guys have? thanks

    Hi lowlife,

If you can logon to http://www.clickenergy.co.uk

Then that should mean you are correctly setup assuming both your gas and electricity accounts are on there.

    thanks

hi, thanks, i spent ages looking for a click energy phone number, british gas told me to use 118 118 to find it lol.
well as i suspected, the phone call i had last week has set my account up as a british gas standard tarriff, to be managed online. it's outrageous. i'll be complaining to all the people mentioned above also.

It took them a LONG time for them to finally sort it out for me, but they did back-date it so that the day I first registered with them was the date I started with the better rates.

ps - welcome to the forum

British Gas are a tool of the Devil.

Or at the very least a bunch of tools.
