Some of these companies say "we'll beat any offer" Now the word beat means "better"
However most say "we'll give you 10% of the difference" so if its a £10 saving you get another £1 knocked off the price, which is not a fair amount but its better than nothing at all.
They also sting you on this "like for like" i.e the whole deal has to be the same, otherwise they don't price match, even to the extremes of stock levels.

Yeah, the like for like thing is an interesting one - any pc hardware on lowestonweb is made by obscure brands to avoid price matching. Tis a bit of a scam really...

What gets me is this "web exclusive price" So its cheaper to buy on the web but when you go instore (the same company) they won't price match? seems crazy that does but you get the usual "its company policy" I honestly can't see any benefit of turning the customer away unless the company want to loose money!Originally Posted by dkmech

I would never buy from Pixmania - heard too many horror stories.
Lots of grey imports, warranty issues ect...
Hmm, I suppose I should have cancelled my order really as I later spotted that it seemed pretty much the same price at amazon (once u take free delivery into account). Its probably a bit too late now though.
