Right pedant mode on, how can it be money? 'What do the poor have' money? well why are they poor then

Ok here's another riddle bit hard to explain but here goes.

There are 4 people, three of which are standing one in front of each other and the person at the front is stood facing a very tall brick wall. The fourth person is stood on the other side of the brick wall facing the wall, as shown below.

Person3 -> Person2 -> Person1 -> |wall| <- Person4

Each person is wearing a black or a white hat, they do not know the colour of the hat that they are wearing but they can see the colour of the hat that the people in front of them are wearing, so P1 can see no hats, P2 can see P1's hat, P3 can see P2 and P1's hat and P4 can see nobodies hat.

Now the problem is that each person has to deduce the colour of the hat that they are wearing, that is all they are allowed to say - the colour of the hat that they are wearing, nothing more. Describe how this is possible (yes it is possible)

I'll give the answer in an hour or so if nobody gets it

P.s. for the sake of this black and white are colours

if the person at the back sees that the two people in front of him are wearing the same colour of hat, he knows he is the opposite, therefore he can shout out. However, if this person doesn't shout out, then the person in the middle knows they are wearing the opposite colour to that of the person in front, so can shout out

Does that not assume they are in sequence with equal amounts of each colour?

They can still have money =) You can be poor and still have money...poor doesn't have to refer to money, could be morally poor, or poor in a million other different ways =)
