if u get one get a half decent one that is fully adjustable to the angle and length you need. i used to use one but i found it actually promoted slouching rather than a good position

i really like them too, as a friend used to have one. Could sit for quite a while comfortably.
i used to have one. as with others here, I found that it wasn't perfect - I could still hunch over very easily. It did stop me slouching though, which was a good thing. And while it wasn't particularly relaxing to sit on, it was fine for a day's work (no pain in my legs particularly)
hope that helps!
does anyone know where you can get a computer chair, where you can attach something to the arms so you can use a gaming keypad on oneside and a mouse on the other
I found that although it feels good for your back (for a while at least) and stops your slouching, the poorly made ones feel unstable and I found my knees got sweaty!
Well, I am going to get one after all.
Can anybody recommend a good one or where I might want to look?
I tried one once, having been told that it "made" you sit correctly. I kind of expected that if you didn't sit perfectly, you felt like you would unbalance, so this would keep you sitting up.
Rubbish. You can sit however you like on one. I can't say I see the point...

i have to say from the photo it looks like it wouldnt be comfortable at all.
slouching is way more comfortable anyway
Talk about being a slow shopper, I just ordered one of these!!
Started the thread on September 20th 2006, ordered the chair on August 10th 2007. Didn't take me long to make my mind up eh? Got one on eBay just now for £45 including delivery, I'm very happy with the price, I'll let you know how I feel about the chair itself in a few days time.

Ive tried one and liked it for the time spent on it, but ive never spent long periods of time sitting on one.
i used to have one, and although its great after a while, you really do need to stick with it, i imagine the aches other people mention are because they're core muscles aren't strong enough, this should sort itself out within a few days.
Had one of these ages ago - but waiting for the metal ones to come in stock
It hurts my knees when I spend any time on one of those chairs. I don't think any chair is able to 'cure' a bad back. Books are the best thing for improving posture. Zhan Zhuang, Feldenkrais method & Egoscue method spring to mind. Sort out your posture with these types of excersises & methods and you'll soon find pretty much any old office chair will do just fine.
