I've been very careful to leave Queen, GnR etc CDs easily accessible around the place and it has paid off. i.e. no hip-hop, or eminem
My youngest has (hopefully) completed his Greenday phase, and hopefully Blink182 won't last as long.
I can't believe that he managed to persuade me to get tickets for My Chemical Romance next March. I don't think that I can let him go on his own. I am going to look really out of place - it will be a close thing for who is most embarrassed! Hopefully they'll have split up by then

I thought the Blink182 craze ended about 4 years ago? Still, as far as yoof music goes they've got some good stuff.

If you want to embarass him, tell him you've heard Blink have a great bonus track on the end of "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" and you want him to play it for you, then watch his face
(oh yeah and don't listen to it if easily offended!)

Almost as funny as my son telling his friends that we were to going to see AFI the other week. Apparently they all burst out laughing, until he said no really

Saying that we did feel out of place. So we hid in the gods at Bristol Academy.

Cracking performance tho' - even better than I'd hoped for

I bought his older brother Blink about 3 years ago.
Thanks for tip - I know about the choice lyrics
My ex was not so understanding - she actually through a Greenday album in the bin a couple of years ago when she realised that they were the naughty swearing sort. I did try and explain that it was no worse than her watching Gordon Ramsey, but that's another thread.
Just remembered that he was listening to Stairway Heaven at the weekend.
I believe that my parenting work is done here.

Some of the yoof aren't too bad.

And going to concerts with your dad is cool, mainly because you don't have to pay so much

Trust me you won't look out of place - half of the people there will be parents

and knoxy is right, 2/5 ain't that bad The kooks are nu-indie (ie: pop), sum41 actually put duck-tape on their guitar strings to mute them (shows the quality there!) and the calling..well i'm not even going to start lol.

Still it's much better than him getting in to RnB/rap/etc

my 12 year old has grown out of Greenday, both Sons love Nickelback and AFI my 11 year old loves Apocalyptica and Rammstein as well as Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco and Guns and Roses, also some would say it's fortuntate that my love of HIM hasn't rubbed off on them

My 12 year old has very eclectic tastes he loves everything from the Beatles to Crystal Method, to Ministry and Godhead, he also loves System Of A Down to Rap music ( havent a clue who, because I don't listen to it )

Black Sabbath? Thats not music. Oasis I can listen to, but to take it that far, and listen to songs by poodle-haired men festooned in stone wash denim and\or leather jackets and those trousers that are so tight they defy the laws of physics... its very wrong. It should all stop.

Its not the 80s. Let that rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish of a decade die.
