Chains outside of polo necks amuse me

There have been some interesting threads on fashion statements in here of late, not being into fashion in the slightest I thought I'd pose a question.

I've seen lots of "jumble sale mums" and sad older women wearing polo neck jumpers or very high collar shirts to then take their tacky gold jewelry and hang it outside of the collar of jumper or shirt, or in one extreme I say a young black kid with the whole chain over the top of his jumper.

    Is this fashion ?

Is this as gay as it looks.
    It is Inevitable.....

The thing is though, it's all opinion. They probably think you look "waker than your nan's hat".
And we all know what they think of "greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeboooooooooooooooooooos!"

So it's opinion. My mate loves wearing tight pink t-shirts. I think it's a walking advertisement stating "I'm gay, hit on me." He thinks I'm bland because I only buy clothes in 4 colours.

    Each to their own.

I think with the younger ones its a fashion statement, look at my bling ! With older women , as you put it , its possibly just an a case of , if i put a nice necklace on why cover it up? I have a gold chain but dont fall into these catagories, i just wear it because it was a gift. On the other hand ,i do wear a lot of bead/ethnic type necklaces which i dont keep covered otherwise no point in wearing them , so cant you wear a gold chain in the same way?

    Nice post.

Everyone has their own idea of what looks good, and if you're laughing at someone, chances are someone else is laughing at you.

Look at yourself in a photo 20 years from now, and we probably all look like idiots.

I was talking about ladies as a general rule of thumb as its mostly them, but I have seen blokes to it too.

a few people of said "if you cover it up whats the point of wearing it" - quite - so don't wear it

It just looks so cheap and tacky, almost like a female penis extension

Oh dear! I think you shoud keep yourself to yourself and leave others to wear what they want how they want.

Is that all you've got to worry about?

not to mention freedom of speech as well as expression, you obviously believe in one but not the other?

He expressed his opinion, I expressed mine. Don't see why I need to justify it

I'm not worrying, I was just laughing.

I said I'm no fashion guru / clothes horse, and there have been some discussions on dubious fashion on this forum.

I assume your one of the "gold chain on the outside" people from your response.

Perhaps you could (assuming I'm right) explain why you like to do that.

Actually your assumptions are wrong! and even if I did then I don't see why myself or anyone else would have to explain themselves to you.
