    To upgrade or not?

    right i have a bit of a dilema and want a second opinion on it, right i have the following kit

    AMD 3700 SD
    Asus a8n SLI premium
    2x1Gb crucial ballistix
    AMD 170 opteron
    NEC dvd rw
    200 Gb hdd with windows
    250Gb hdd with xp media center
    ANTEC P160
    Lian LI v1000 B

    now recently (2 days ago) i bought a dual core opteron 939. And last night an old friend offered me £525 for

    * AMD 3700
    * Asus a8n sli premium
    * 2x1Gb crucial ballistix
    * 200 Gb hdd with windows
    * DVD rw drive

    for £525 !! so that would be enough money to then move to core 2 duo.... and i could sell my opteron for at least £150 on top of that, which could get me a nice western digital raptor 150gb

    £570 i can get e6600 / asus p5b deluxe / 2x1Gb G skill HZ /

    so £45 to move to conroe....

    or do I just keep my set up >>

    Asus a8n sli premium
    opteron 170@ 2.7ghz
    2x1GB crucial ballistix
    200Gb hd
    Windows
    DVD RW

    shall i just move to conroe , i could buy the e6300 and then wait for quad? i guess if i dont sell at this chance i have i wont ever get anything for it? he is wanting the stuff on the 26th of nov this month

    cheers for reading

    sounds like a good deal to sell... top-end core 2 duos might start to drop when quads start coming out os you could wait for that.. or just go for the 6600 will be a nice upgrade, practically for free

    Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I'm planning on waiting for the quad cores to be released so I can (hopefully) get a cheaper Core 2.
