    Crazy thing on tv

Did anyone see a clip in a tv program the other night ,i walked in half way through so bit vague on all the details.Showed a guy possibly japanese or chinese , with his leg back to front! Its seems that he had his whole leg amputated , then from the knee down including his foot was stitched back on ...but back to front! Did anyone see this ? and what was it all about? It seemed a bit strange to see him left with a very short leg with his foot facing backwards and one normal leg.

What you are refering to is a Van Ness rotation plasty, where someone with a tumor or injury which would normally require amputation above the knee, has the ankle rotated and reatached to become a functional knee joint.

Yes but it wasnt just the ankle , it was a full leg amputation with below the knee being attached at the hip so to speak and the foot left on,can understand the use of the ankle joint , but where's the point in the foot being left on and back to front as well ?
