Does anyone have an Egg Money account?

    Hey guys,

Thinking of opening an account with Egg to allow me to manage my finances a bit better! Paying my direct debits/rent/insurance and petrol out of my bank account and then whatever is left put into my Egg account (then I know its mine and I can have a bit of fun with it)

Does anyone do this with Egg (or any other bank) and, if so, does it work?

Im sick of getting to the last few days before I get paid and having bugger all left for Petrol etc

    Any help appreciated!

    Cheers

I have an egg card account but for savings I would reccomend

It is an Indian bank that consistetly has good rates but is in high demand so getting throuhg may be an issues. THere offer is only to 2007 but they always tend to be one of the highest. I prefer using halifax myself I prefer the easier access.

Be wary of interest rates after you take into account tax and inflation some savings accounts will actually see you losing money. Should you only want to put a bit away an ISA would seem the way to go as they are tax free and the better ones are above inflation. A mini ISA has an annual limit of £3k and a maxi £7K. some are pure cash other are realted to the stock market and various forms of maturing funds. The gains from the stock market can be greater but so can the loses but a long term investment of five to ten years on average will see a net gain, however most of these forms are in maxi ISA form and tend to have a minimum investment of around £5K.
