Are you guys ALL under 30?

Not a single Pepsi Syndrome reference?

For all of you youngsters, the Pepsi Syndrome was a 1979 SNL sketch with Richard Benjamin which won an Emmy. A parody of the move The China Syndrome and the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, it was truly hilarious.

    • Matt: Only a handful of people know what the Pepsi Syndrome means. Maybe soon, everyone will know it.

      Carl: But, what is it?

Matt: Well, the Pepsi Syndrome. If someone spills a Pepsi on the control panel of a nuclear power reactor, the panel can short-circuit, and the whole core may melt down.

Brian: But, you spilled a Coke.

Matt: It doesn't matter. Any cola does it.

Carl: Any cola? What about RC Cola?

      Matt: Yeah, RC does it.

      Brian: Canada Dry?

      Matt: Sure.

      Carl: 7-up?

Matt: It's harmless. It's an un-cola. [ smacks his hands to his forehead ] Oh, wow! I could have had a V8!

If you REALLY want to see it cook, try salt water...WARM saltwater.

I've tried coke before...Sugar water doesn't conduct electricity very well (sugar doesn't have ionic bonds). Salt, sodium chloride, does have ionic bonds, will be ions in the water, which makes water conduct electricity, which makes me laugh when you dump in on a 486.

Salt water makes this much more amusing, trust me.

    mtom is right.

Get lots of ions in liquid form and you're on your way to an electric wonder! lol.
