    crikey! dried it out on a radiator, powered it up today - and it's STILL WORKING!! booted from a win98 floppy fine

    no i just dried it off

    i think i'll stick it in the freezer, and then power it up see what happens, hopefully it'll be cold enough and i'll get some neat frosty / smoke type effect coming from it

    I'm not suprised that it still works, if it got into the PSU then it would have shorted the mains and tripped it out before it did any damage ... anyone seen the 'L33T Duron' video - they overclock this Duron to 4.9Ghz and take the cooler off ... its fake but great to watch (if you watch in slow mo you can see its packet with explosives underneith the socket)!
