TPS have a say over residential lines, but you cant register a business line with them.

TPS will take action if you have the callers details inside the UK, but if they call from anywhere else they have no power to block / take action.

Most of the time out of UK call centres will place an invalid outgoing cli so they cant be identified. Example cli "50776" unfortunatly this is so easy to do with a digital trunk or even an ISDN 2 line.

    AFAIK.

I just get them to sell you the phone whatever the deal is, and get them to credit check: Adolf Hitler, The Reichstag, 264-266 Leicester Road, Wigston, Leicester, DOB 20/4/1889, job description: fuhrer etc. etc.

I've done this so many times and they just don't get it.... They always say you need to be 18 to have a contract sir. I say I'm 117, they still believe me.

There is a MP3 somewhere of a guy who recorded a call like this, and pretended to be a copper, and sort of implicated the caller in a murder investigation Sweet !

I just speak to them in Mandarin Chinese or Russian, that gets em going.
    Cheers, David

It its an indian call centre, they get paid very well considering their location. Enough to live nice and comfortably. If its a UK call centre, either you are accelerating them choosing a more appropriate career or are annoying some scum.
Remember, they know that they are annoying people for a living, and know what kind of responses they are going to get. Tuff luck if they dont like it!

Well we have their number, all we need to do is have everyone call them at the same time, pretend to be after a phone (maybe all the same one), get right up to the last bit (also make sure you get the T&C's read out!) then all hang up.

On the getting them to read the T&C's bit, my esteemed collegue John added "Say you're in the cinema, whisper to them and make them read the whole thing whispering back. Occasionally make booming noises, say 'what?' and explain that Arnie just blew something up".

When I get accosted by people in shopping centres trying to sell me a mobile phone, I do one of two things - if they appear polite, I usually just politely interrupt them by saying "Sorry, my phone is paid for by my company, so I don't pay anything anyway". If they look all smug and interfering, I usually play along for ages THEN tell them that I don't pay

Even if you do pay for your own work, still say it - they're not going to check are they...

Keeping them on hold for 5 minutes means they'll have fewer calls to make and hopefully be abused less , so in a way its being nice to them (unless they have targets , in which case they're pooched )

Do you think these people are stupid enough to call a 0906 number?

Set one up and get them to call you back on that. "Can i just have the T+C's one more time"
