    01792 474700 : don't bother answering

    Hi dudes.

Some fools in Swansea are trying to sell mobile phone contracts, and that's the number that shows.

If this number rings, think of summit smart to say before answering, like "Get a real job, like a Traffic Warden, a Speed Camera Operator or a Tax Inspector, a job that people will respect".

Then try to sell them a dead goat.

I am fed up with it tbh.

or use my system. Only works for when the callers are here though.
when you answer, let them speak for a short time, then interrupt - sorry, can you hold just a minute - doorbell has rung.
    leave them to it.
So far I've had them waste a 6 minute call to me.
For all of those 6 minutes, they were not calling other people, and costing the company their wages. If everyone wastes as much of their time as possible, soon it will not be economical to do it.

The numbers in my office are on 3 database, or at least a company that sells contracts for 3. Every 4 or 5 months in the space of about 2 minutes all 40 phone will ring with people offering 'fantastic deals' ... my office is a department of a well known mobile phone company - not 3 btw.

... had an entertaining conversation with George, who sounded like he may have been based in South Asia. He said 'Good afternoon my name is George, how are you sir?'
I ask him: 'Could you cut to the chase?' George was confused, I repeated a few times getting slower and slower.
Then tried few 'What are you angling at?'s and then 'What's the plan man?'

George told me he was going to hang up because he could understand me ... cheeky begger hung up on me!

Now I have a job I don't waste my time talking to telesales people

Lol I could do with some funny tips to do to these people who are trying to sell you useless junk !!

I usually just let them go along with it and when they ask you for money just say "Oops I've got to go now, sorry."

And when they ring back later blag there heads and tell them they've got the wrong number and tell them they never rang here before.

Maybe I'm just too soft, but taking it out on the poor sods who're getting 5$ a day or less to make the calls just isn't cricket as far as I'm concerned. There are a lot of clever people here, who could probably figure out how to inflict a DOS attack on their employers or something.

Tried that..... some of them ring back..... again and again and again!

Had one company ringing the number range in my office, despite the polite initial "this is a business" replies, they kept calling, 3 different reps kept calling the same numbers on rotation for 3 days. Even when telling them to "major obcenity off" one of their mates called back 10 minutes later! Eventually they never called again! Oh how I hate swearing at people, but when they are calling so often you can't do your job, swear away!

Then surely if they phone back over and over you can report them for 'phone spam' and get them blocked from you?
