First rule of forum administration ..... anything you put in a sticky seems to immediately become totally invisible to the vast majority of members.
For instance ....
.... on another forum, we once (on a night where we were all very bored) played a peurile little game where members had to find a specific thread, and be the first one to post in it after mods had moved it, to earn a point. The night's winner got some title like "Chief spammer".
Anyways, I moved that thread all over the joint, and the members were always onto it like hawks (search was disabled, by the way). So I moved it into GD and turned it into a sticky .... where it stayed for ages befoe some smart-a**e spotted it.
Moral of the story? People don't read stickies. They often don't even seem to see them, let alone read them.
All IMHO, of course.
But have you been told about the anti-spam hack, where everytime you post, your count does DOWN by two, until it reaches a set level?I only have enough posts to book the hexus shed
