Not any different to most large cities i don't think.

There are bargains. Have a look at http://www.visitscotland.com/ you can get good specials on there. Expedia and LastMinute are also good places to look.

when were you last there? It was refurbished last year, and both floors have been completely revamped to make them far more spacious.

I might be up for this one. Don't know about the cathouse though, I've only been there once but there was a random guy going around punching people in the nuts.

I saw the thread and thought "Glasgow- pfft!", then realised that I'm on holiday that week. No promises, but tomorrow I'll have a look at flights and gently broach the subject with the missus.

Trouble is, I have a fear that I'll turn up to the spoons at 11am, have my first shot at 12, be 10 sheets to the wind by 2pm, be blacked out by 3pm, and wake up in the Gorbals at 3am the next morning minus my wallet, phone, watch and kidneys.

.....so the flights are £92 each; I can't really afford it but Mr Barclay hasn't asked for his money back yet....

What's a suitable hotel then? Mrs G (surprisingly) says that she's up for it; she's seen the warning signs often enough to slap me sober when it's required, so I can probably hit the bar with quasi-impunity....sod it, let's do this.

Find me a hotel peeps and I'll raid the debit card tomorrow.

After a quick look, the Euro Hostel that Tigs (and i think Agent) is staying at is a good deal £102 for two nights.

    this link should work:
