    Agreed! that's awful

Why bother cleaning it in the first place? I agree with Mark in an above post, we have never felt the need to wash any of our Cats as they sort themselves out!!! apart from when Mum In Laws Cat got covered in Paint and then we gently sponged him, don't care how many scratches etc we got! better than putting him through that stressful nightmare!!!

    Off topic!

I want to know why my Dog who is an 8 stone German Shepherd and a lot higher up from the ground than our Kitten only has to look at mud and stuff and it gets everywhere stuck on his feet legs and tummy yet the Kitten who is tiny always comes in spotless no matter what the weather, she has 4 white feet and they are always brilliant white

I wonder if they'll make it over here?

I'll be in the looooooong line with our mangy old tomcat who reeks to high heaven...

You could argue it's cruel, but then have you ever had a tomcat give your face the Bruce Lee 'Flying Fists of Fury' treatment?

In the toss up between a p1ssed off cat or losing an eye, I'll opt for a cat sulking with me for a month... but smelling nice all the same.

It would be crule if it was a real washing machine that spun round.

You see how the cat is scratching at the door? if you held it in the shower, or bath, it would be scratching you instead....

I used to have 2 Persian cats when I lived with Mum and dad. Had to shower them all the time in the bath. They just sat there and purred. Then purred harder when you got the hair dryer out and dried them. Strangest cat's I've ever had!

    Hahahahahaha pwnt!

And all you people saying it's cruel- get a life. Most domestic cats would think nothing of torturing a mouse they've caught for half an hour then wandering off leaving it to die slowly and horribly of its wounds. If you're getting worked up about a poor little puddy cat getting a bit wet, one word: perspective.

the laws of nature and animal instrict are different to a human choosing to distress an animal.

A child would pull the legs of a daddy long legs / spider, does that make it acceptable to put a child in this machine ?

Thats pretty damn mean considering that cats REALLY hate water.

When the cat was getting dried at the end you could see it was miffed about it.

I love that cartoon. They havn't been able to restore it properly as it is pretty old and the origional is in quite poor quality as it is.

The cat came back the very next day !

Only if you pulled the child's legs off first. It would also fit better.

Lets face it, cats by nature are cruel, so anything to get back at them makes me smile.

    Love it!

Yes, while it was in the machine the cat was distressed. The rest of the time I daresay that, like most pet cats, it has a fine old time being fed tasty catfood, lazing about, and killing small birds and rodents. At the end of the day it is a pet; it is the property of its owners, and its function is to provide companionship, entertainment etc. If it is failing in that function because it smells too bad to stroke, then sorry, it's going to have to put up with a bit of jetwash action.

Domestication works both ways. Most cats are allowed out of the house, and could escape from the bondage of being subservient to humans if they wanted to. The vast majority of them do not, because they like eating catfood out of a tin and lying in front of the fire, rather than sleeping in hollow logs and having to kill every last thing that they eat.

Personally, I care enough about animal rights that I do my very best not eat factory farmed chicken or pork because I think the conditions they are raised in are appalling. Compared to the suffering of a chicken in a large intensive factory shed, a cat getting a jetwashing it doesn't appreciate is small beer indeed. I reckon half the people in this thread spouting off about the cat's rights wouldn't think twice about ordering a KFC....

Rave all fair points, and as you say I'm sure the cat would get over it, it just seems a "chosen cruilty" over a less cruel "hand wash" style technique. I think thats the issue I have, if you care for this cat in any way you'd try to care for it as best possible, eg; wash it in a sink, in the same way if you care for a child you'd have to do things it doesn't like but you do them in the least painful/distressing manner.

the point on KFC is a VERY good one that should be heeded

When I saw the title to the thread, I thought some crazy japanese person had invented a pink washing machine with Kitty Branding lol.

Anyway I must admit that looks pretty damn cruel, the cat did not enjoy that at all you could see.

mabye they could sedate the cat first?

or better yet, put a live mouse in, then people would stop moaning about the puddy cat.

I found this funny, because i hate cats, but also the thing survived, if its so old that it would have a heart attack, then i guess the owners would of been a little more concerned, but fact is it just jumped about a bit. The same sort of movement one would expect if it saw a brand new leather sofa.

edt, just had a thought, why not make one big enough for the owner to get in too, to 'calm the cat down'. I'd pay to watch that!
