    I've had a few customers in the past that needed systems like that for Stock Exchange work, 3d modeling work etc...

    (That was pre-Scan days ... I've dabbled in system building for others before now as well )

    but 5 screens! 'alt tab' could save you a loads of money...

    In some uses - the time taken to alt-tab is potentially a loss of thousands....

    So you can't ALT-Tab faster than you can move your mouse the eight feet across your desk to go from the far left screen to the far right?

    Well, I'd have thought it obvious, but...
    You're making a trade and you need to know how the market price of X compares to that of Y. You look up, and there it is.
    If you need large amounts of information to remain instantly available there's nothing to beat loads of screen space.

    Who says you needed to click anything ?

    Having screens of information is all that is needed somtimes. As David said, the Stock Exchange is a perfect example
