Seems Google are now allowing people to sign up to Gmail without getting invited... Took a long time coming eh?

Heh - I got invited
Is it out of the beta stage then?
The logo hasn't changed from Beta, so I presume not.
Heh, just spotted the Google homepage. It is still beta - the linky on the front page says so.
has anyone who wanted to get on this not before now? people had more invites to give out than they knew what to do with.

Does anyone know if you can register 2 or more email addresses?
I have 48, I havn't really thoughout about what to do with them
apparently google are getting a bit shirty about people using all their online storage. there was an article on theinq where someone had their account frozen, due to suspicious activities.
on a side note, any idea if its possible to get back a deleted account that doesnt currently exist anymore ?
Thye freeze your account if you upload a certain amount in a certain amount of time.
I uploaded pile of pics which I had split into 10mb rar files and had my account frozen, that was about a gig IIRC.
it's nothing special now anyway, i thought everyone had one.
It's not as if it's hard to get an invite from someone anyway. I've probably got loads, and I'm starting to use my gmail account as my primary e-mail account nowadays as my personal one is via SMTP to my client, and I switch between computers a lot thus not being able to see older e-mails.
it may not be out of beta, but Ive noticed a few minor UI and behavioural changes....nothing major.
I love gmail, its my primary email account - registered other addresses for the sake of spam....
Why is it still in beta though? Its been out yonks and pretty much everyones got a gmail account now anyway and it works, i've never had any problems with it.
