Where is the video you need? I'm not seeing anything? As for video ripping you need to rip it then encode it with something like lame I think.

Well if its a video on a website like YouTube, BitComet can download them as of version 0.80 but it only works in IE 6.0 and newer, furthermore you need a program like Riva FLV player to play back the videos.

If you're talking about ripping videos that stream in a windows media format then you'll need a program like WM Recorder 11, but I'd like to point out that videos that you can only stream are usually that way for a reason...

It's already encoded, you just need to download it somehow.

mimms is an open-source tool to download a mms:// url

from the above url, extract the useful bit from the url (the bit ending .asx), open the asx file in notepad, get the mms url, and use mimms on it

    Code:
    directhex@mortos:/tmp$ mimms mms://a1214.v12621f.c12621.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1214/12621/v0001/carlton1.download.akamai.com/12621/fortune/fortune_week2.wmv

    hm, interesting

if you try and download http://wms-eu.stream.aol.com/timeinc..._Stream001.asf (note the .asf not .wmv) it forwards you to a different mms:// url: mms://wms-frr1n-2.stream.aol.com/timeinc/uk/ipcmedia/nme/video/07/feb/bloc_party/ENTIREGIG256K_Stream001.asf

mimms is choking on it though :/
