nVidia Drivers – UK International or US English?

The 8800GTX is my first nVidia graphics card (always used ATi before), so I have only downloaded and installed the English UK International drivers rather than the US English drivers, as I have a UK English XP system. Is this really necessary? The US drivers are about half the size, and it seems that beta drivers are always US English. Reports are that the 158.27 drivers are better (faster + more stable) than the current official 158.22, and also word on some sites is that the 160.02 Quadro drivers are the best yet for the 8800GTX, but I have been wary of trying them….

Your views please… should I stick with UK English and wait for the next official release or are US English drivers perfectly OK on a UK English system?

I've no experience with 8 series or Vista drivers, but on XP with the 7000 (and below) series drivers, the only difference is language support (that you don't need if you read english)...

Its the same - Its just for the bundled apps / setup stuff.

Can you put up with "color" and not "colour" - thats the question

I read, somewhere, that it was best to always go with the International drivers, so I do. But sorry, can't remember why that is - anyone else do this too?

Actually I've read this as well somewhere. I don't have an Nvidia card now but at the time that I did I always used the International ones after having read this wherever I read it.

OK I am trying the 160.02 Quadro drivers and initial impressions are that they are no better and 'feel' less OK than 158.22 in my flight sims.....

I was using 158.22 UK Very stable yes... but all icons in Quick Launch invariably (but not always) get corrupted at boot up after the driver fully loads - start up OK initially, but then get korrupted. If I untick Show Quick Launck and OK, and then reset it on and OK, then the icons are displayed correctly.

    Same with 160.02......
