Some industry insider buddies with an AF test program had tipped me that ATI's 2900XT cards are NOT performing AF in DX10.
Apparently the press has picked up on this now as well, and personally, I find it very interesting ATi themselves have not been pointing this out to reviewers. Rather, they are letting the review sites post artificially inflated results which make ATi's 2900XT look "better" than it actually is!

I'm hoping for the OK to post the AF test program on NZone or a link to it hosted somewhere. We did hit one snag in the DX10 version of Lost Planet. The Radeon HD cards didn't appear to be applying anisotropic filtering to most surfaces, regardless of whether aniso was enabled in the game settings or forced on via Catalyst Control Center. Be aware of that as you're looking at the results.
BTW- this review also:
1. Confirms the poor showing of the 1GB 2900XT in this review:

2. Shows much higher cpu utilization for the 2900s in video playback.
