Question BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC2 now or WAIT?

Hi, guys, I've just got almost the whole new system except the graphic card, I've set my heart on the above mentioned. Should I go for it or wait for the new ATI cards to arive, to see what they can offer? Or maybe you have any better ideas? Thanks in advance

You'd be crazy to expect ATi to release a card for £160ish that competes with the 8800GTX, let alone an overclocked edition

If you can afford an 8800GTX, then get one, even nVidia's new 8800GT in SLI (about the same price ex. mobo costs) only beats the 8800GTX in certain conditions and thus far ATi's track record isn't good...

You might look at eVGA's offerings for the GTX; they may have a faster version for about the same price. Their warrenty is top-notch, too.

Thanks. I have looked at EVGA cards, bur it looks like the ACS3 version of the gtx costs like 50 pounds more than the BFG OC2 which offers the same speeds, so I think I'm gonna stay with BFG, like Lucio said, if you can afford it, than buy it

In that particular case, I'd agree with your decision. I hadn't actually compared the GTX lines; they're out of my price range

Only people with more money than sense would get a GTX at this point. It's nearing the end of their life and if nVidia doesn't slash the prices that could well be sooner rather than later.

Fair enough I probably can't say something like that about myself I've been saving for this system for a year So maybe it's better to go for something like 8800GT for the moment?

If you can actually get your hands on one, that's where I'd put my money.
