Sapphire X1950 Pro AGP - Too hot?

    Hello guys.

I have a Sapphire X1950 Pro AGP (stock cooling) with the fan speed set to 100% in ATI Tray tools and idle the card gets around 50C-55C Idle.

When I play games that give me high FPS the temp can go over 100C which worries me.

I'm using the latest ATi drivers.

I'm thinking about getting the Zalman VF900-CU Quiet Copper VGA Cooler. if I was to fit that on my X1950 pro would I see a temp drop?

I have an antec nine hundred case with a decent enough air flow and all fans set to high. I am thinking about getting another 120MM fan for the side of the case to give my graphics card a bit more cooling.

    Any information/advice appreciated.

    Thanks.

Have you thought of replacing the existing thermal compound of the cooler with something better?? Perhaps the GPU is not making good contact with the cooler??

I recently put some new thermal compound onto the cooler and the GPU is connecting perfect with it.

To be honest I didn't know it mattered what type of thermal you used. I used some from when I bought it a while back although I can't remember why I bought it.

The thermal paste I used is 'Arctic Silver 5, high-density, polysynthetic silver.'

    Thanks
