17" Iiyama Prolite E431S Silv or Acer AL1731 - 17"

Also, is there a "best" supplier for the above?

i can say with absolute certainty (a housemate has the iiyama and a hyundai 17" dualhead) that the iiyama knocks the competition for 6

yes. full stop. there's no comparison at ALL, the q17 feels like a packard bell reject in comparison

It's a shame very few of the manufacturers seem to offer height adjust on their screens!
