Yeah well it cost me about £140 in May last year. Still worth it though.

No question about it, the ti4200 wins hands down.

Decent price, cracking performance (still runs all todays games well) and is pretty overclockable too

For people like me who refuse to pay more than £150 for a GFX card it was the bargain buy of last year.

I'd have said the Rad8500 was in with a shout but the drivers took a long time to mature, prices were too high globaly, clock speeds varied too much and perf wasn't quite good enough compared to the competing products. Look how the GF4TI4200, Rad9500PRO and Rad9700PRO shook things up when they came on the scene. Rad8500 was/is still a great card though and way better than any DX8 Radeon ATI have produced since that's for sure.

PS. Looks as though Savastore have sold all those 4200 now, £105 is the cheapest (now 128MB though) and that's a lot when you add on P&P. http://www.dabs.com/products/prod-se...p=&up=&mc=&sc= do a 4200_64MB £75ish and a 4200_128MB £85ish.

i got a gf4 ti4200 for £81 on *bay when they first came out
it was a axle 64mb and it easily clocked to 300/600 with no probs whatsoever i was a bit upset getting rid of it as it was such a good card my new rad 9700 has stopped me thinking about it so much now
gf4 ti 4200 pound for performance has to be the best card
