thats the dual slot one right? the pic you linked is too small to tell..
it could be a number of things..
not firmly pushed in the slot..
not screwed in tight enough on the pci backplane slot.. needs to be as tight as possible due to the weight of the card..
motherboard not screwed down enough, so when mobo moves the card graphics keeps coming out..
you keep fiddling with stuff inside the case and keep moving the graphics each time..
you keep moving the case around your room, or hitting it because it doesn't work right - i keep kicking my pc when it does something unexpected, I broke the dvd drive this way..
just make sure it's screwed in tight and level....
make sure it doesn't come out of the socket a bit when you screw it in (if it does then don't screw it in too tight). One of my graphics cards, does that because the metal bracket thing is slightly bent
case is the coolermaster cm690 and mobo is fitted correctly , my system has not moved since i last reseated the card . and yes it is the dual slot cooler
GECUBE Internet, 3D Gaming&Entertainment
Could it be getting too hot or something. What happens after you turn it off, leave for 5-10mins then turn it on again?????
max temp under load is 61c , it only does it now and then . it mainly happens when the system is cold
Hmm..., Have you got the latest drivers for it, and what is your psu??? It could be that the PSU is struggling to power it, and every now and then is underpowered, and then needs resetting - however I would have thought that it would scream if this were the case.
yes i have the latest driver's , it happens also when it first posts (bios screen etc) and not just in windows . my psu is an ezcool 700w , yes i know it's not that great but it was the best the shop had at the time of purchase
i think i have sorted it , had to put a few screws in it to stop it moving . i think tool-less design
nope the problem still has returned , do i need a new mobo ? . recommend me a new mobo for my setup please
Have u tried it in different slots?
Mobo: DFI LP X48 LT T2R Bios 2008/12/24
CPU: Intel Q6600 G0 @ 3.6ghz (400 x 9)
Ram: OCZ PC2-9200 4GB Flex II @ 1066mhz 5-5-5-15 2T
GC: HIS 5870 @ 900/1300 - Eyefinity
could be that the factory overclock on the graphics isn't quite stable all the time and this is causing the yellow stripes or funny coloured blocks... try de-clocking the graphics card memory back to normal default levels and run the card at them to see if problem persists..
I think rivatuner can do this.. not tried it myself though, so can't be sure..
