Of course you'll regret it... When the 512mb/1gb are the same price.
As for when the 1gb comes out, I couldn't say. No experience at that sort of resolution.
I guess we're expected to do quite wellOriginally Posted by Fortune117

Same price? Really? I've seen a pre-order and it's 50 quid more expensive. Zhaoman i hope your right, looking at other cards the difference seems to only appear at higher resolutions with AA at full and AF full.. Or is that me reading things wrongly..
You're absolutely right, only when you apply AA and AF does memory come into play and 1Gb is only a benefit at 1900x1200 or higher.
If you're working on a 3D model and you're trying to render a screenshot on the other hand.. >:@ the 256mb HD2400 in my office computer is useless!!! A 2Gb would make a world of difference!
hehe no, not doing any rendering, it's just for games, you've made me feel a lot better now.. I've got a 22" display and can only go up to 1680x1050 so hopefully i won't see any benchies putting my card down lol.. I just couldn't wait to get one.. I currently have an 8800GT so hopefully see some speed increase..
I'm waiting for the 1GB ones, HD resolution monitors are becoming more widespread, plus I want to play back through my telly (1900x1200)
Wow games on a 42" screen.. Can't imagine one of those on my desk though It' would be like watching the tennis at wimbledon my head moving left to right and back again

I also just ordered one, and will be throwing another 4870 in for some Crossfire fun when it's needed (though I'll need to up my PSU too at that point)
