Exclamation DVI to HDMi Cable Help?

Hey atm I can't use the VGA input on my Hitachi 32' LCD TV because it can't support any thing out of the normal 4:3 which is ridiculous seeing as its a widescreen tele so I just end up with a stretched picture. So I wanted to know if I could use a DVI to HDMi cable to get the same effect only if would support a better selection of widescreen resolutions.

    1. Is one of these cables just what I need to fix my problem.
    2. Will it support 1440x900 coming from my tele to HDMi Input on my TV?

For instance a cable like THIS.

    Thanks in advance,

There is a DVI->HDMI converter, however on a TV you really want a different resolution along the lines of 13somethingx768 which wil work on your TV. Depending on your graphics card it should auto detect. My 4770 did.

Re: DVI to HDMi Cable Help?

I had a simular problem, my TV does not have a PC mode and when i connected the DVI to HDMI cable the picture was streched and didnt fit the screen verticaly, to fix it i downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers ( but i dont know what card you have) and then at the bottom of the Nvidia control panel in advanced mode it gives you the application to resize the destop and you can fit it to your screen size but with the resolution you want im not sure if this will solve your problem but it sounds like what i had.
