    9600gso ddr2

    Hiya,

Anyone know what sort of performance penalty you get from running DDR2 ram in these things? I am looking for something to replace a 6200TC 64MB as it isn't quite fast enough to run dual screens with Linux Compiz desktop and was looking at a 9500GT or similar, but these look very tempting at the price. Only reviews I could see were DDR3 ram though.

The Asus EN9600GSO Magic also has a 128bit memory interface too. It still has the 96 stream processors of the first generation 9600GSO though.

It was the non magic version I was looking at on ebuyer at 44 quid. That puts it down with the 32 stream gpus in price, but for another tenner you get ddr3 ram.

This is for putting in a work PC though, one I don't even own, and I am already creeping up in price

The cheaper version also has the same specs as the Magic version.
