    Overclocked my HD 4890 OC

    OMG

I've had my Sapphire HD 4890 OC Edition since the end of May 2009, and only just decided to have a look at the overclocking within Catalyst 9.8. It took ages to complete because I have two cards in CrossFire mode, I think it was about 45 minutes to complete. Well the results are in and I'm shocked. I didnot actually think I could get anymore out of a GFX card which is allready overclocked in the first place. At the moment its running at 63C which is pretty good considering it's overclocked. Although this is unloaded and when running a game it would probably reach about 80C which is still ok.

It only overclocked one card and not the other for some reason, you do have an option of which card to overclock do I need to overclock the ther one as well? The results are pretty good I think.

Sapphire HD 4890 OC [Card One]

I'm over clocking the second card now and it should come out the same as the first one at the moment its on 931MHz and counting Memory Clock 1065MHz

OK I'm confused how can two identicle cards come out with different results?

Re: Overclocked my HD 4890 OC

Heard the 4890 was pretty oc friendly, cards differ quite a bit even if they're the same make/model because of the manufacturing process, some come out better than others. It's pot luck how well they'll overclock.

nice results, looking at getting one of these, depending on wen the 5850 comes out, not all cards are made equal and seems uve found that with your overclock. Although i would of thought theyd of come out closer than that.
