just overclocked 8800gtx

hi i just overclocked my gtx using rivatuner.

it overclocked from 576 MHz core clock to 630 MHz
and from 900 Mhz memory clock to 1075 Mhz.

My core temp is 69 degrees at 54% fan duty cycle which is at fan speed 1400rpm.
at full load my temp is 74-75 at 70% fan duty cycle.

does all this sound good?

temps are ok.

As long as you aren't getting any weird artifacts in games..then its fine.

I personally wouldn't go much higher than 80 degrees but they will go higher without burning out.

hi i was just looking at my graphics card and i opened it up and removed the fan cooler from the actual gfx card and i noticed there is very little material between the graphics card chip and the actual heatsink of the fan.
shall i maybe clean it off with some surgical fluid and then add some arctic silver 5 to help the graphic card transfer heat to the heatsink?

correction
just used ati tool
and apparently had artifacts at 630/1075 clock settings althought couldnt see any when running 3dmark06.

however now had to reduce then to 610/1010.

Don't use Silver 5 on graphics cards as it can short things out, get some non-conductive stuff like AC MX-2.

Yes it's the replacement to MX-1 and can be used on both cpu and graphics coolers.
(it's used on both in that link you posted)

However as5 should be safe to use as long as you don't over do it and it get's onto any soilder points.

Not Electrically Conductive:
Arctic Silver 5 was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity.
(While much safer than electrically conductive silver and copper greases, Arctic Silver 5 should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. While it is not electrically conductive, the compound is very slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridges two close-proximity electrical paths.)

Arctic cooling MX1 or 2 is safer as it's both non-conductive and non-capacitive.

I use ceramique when i need non-conductive stuff.
